Young Gay/Bisexual Men's Program Coordinator
Young Gay/Bisexual Men’s Program Coordinator for the Fuse Mpowerment Project: Fuse is an HIV prevention/community-building program focused on gay and bisexual men. An energetic, team-oriented and committed individual is needed to implement the Fuse program in Dallas for young gay and bisexual men between the ages of 18 and 29.
Responsibilities include logistics planning of events and outreach activities; recruiting young gay and bisexual men for the program and its events/activities; organizing and overseeing weekly events and outreach planning meetings; supervising volunteers; facilitating meetings; participating in the development of safer sex publicity materials and attending staff meetings. Position requires working some evenings, late nights and weekends, and demonstrate working knowledge of social media apps and other new media platforms (such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.). Successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and leadership qualities; be a self-starter and able to work collaboratively in a team setting; and capable of completing job tasks with little supervision. Good communication skills and leadership qualities are required. Must be comfortable discussing sex and sexuality with young gay and bisexual men. Must be knowledgeable about HIV/AIDS prevention, gay male sexuality, gay male issues and the local gay community. Must have experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, etc.). Successful candidate should have meeting planning experience, excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability.
Valid drivers license and access to reliable transportation required.
Bachelor's degree and bilingual English-Spanish skills preferred.
This is a full-time position which includes benefits, paid time-off and training. Hourly wage begins at $16 per hour, depending on experience, for 40 hours per week.
